Gundam

Gundams, named for their inventor Jimmy Gundam, are the first line of defense and height of the technology in the Miniature Giant Space Hamster Empire (MGSHE). These fearsomely gigantic machines of destruction (relative to the size of your average hamster) are only piloted by the best of the best and used to secure and defend settlements from any would be threats. Each is roughly the same size as your average adult human.   To be a Gundam pilot, a citizen of the MGSHE needs several defining characteristics. First and foremost, they must possess sufficient innate magic to power the Gundam. Second, they must pass an intelligence screening; only those smart and skilled enough to repair and replace parts while completely cut off from supplies can go on extended scouting missions. Lastly, they must be willing and able to fight. Miniature giant space hamsters (MGSH) are pacifists by nature and most are incapable of suppressing their innate instincts to flee rather than fight. With all the skills required, it's estimated only 1/10,000 MGSH are qualified to be Gundam pilots.   In place of magic, Gundams use advanced technology. Much of this technology mimics effects that other races can achieve through magic, though some is wholly unique. The Gundams are powered by the spark of natrual magic from their pilots, which acts like a pilot light required to run the rest of their power core. Gundams can be specialized for a variety of different combat applications; for example, the S.U.N. (Stealth Unit Nine) piloted by Sunny was originally designed for scouting, infiltration, and long-range combat but later modified to include heavy armor and close-range weaponry.
