The Descent of Helenaphe

Celestial

0

The first of the gods arrive on New Haven and Helenaphe, their leader, sanctifies the land, incepting linear time and preparing the world for the arrival of their subjects, the Humans. Helenaphe exhausts all her strength in the feat and lays down to die, becoming the Trinzejar jungles at the Continent's northern end. The event destroys thousands of Gauthran creatures.

And when Helen descended, all the plants and animals turned her way, awakened from their stupor, and sung in such clear harmony that their echoes shaped the centuries to come.

The arrival of the gods on New Haven marked the end of Gauthran Time and the inception of "Natural Order" as the gods called it.

Though New Haven had always existed, linear time had not and for that (for lack of better words) "era," moments were loosely and randomly organized. But like ants on a string, the beings of New Haven lived on without awareness of the string's bending or looping back on itself: to them, the progression of day to day was as ordered as the [??]. That is, until Helenaphe came and straightened the string, at which point it was impossible to ignore.

Helenaphe, the powerful leader of the gods, sanctified the land so that her followers may step on it without harm. She fixed time, destroying countless Gauthra in the process, and declared a new Natural Order: that humans would be fashioned in their image and they would be the heirs to this world.

In her efforts, Helenaphe expended the last of her strength and lay down to die at the northern tip of the continent. From her corpse sprung the massive jungle known as the Trinzejar.
