In the span of a minute, the sky had clouded over and a fierce gale had picked up. Rain fell in great drenching sheets and the pines bent almost to the ground under that terrible wind. The boy ran into the house, shut the doors and windows, and huddled beneath the kitchen table. Within minutes, the storm abruptly ended and all was eerily quiet. [??]

The Ebigana of the Sullymindre believe every tree to be burdened by a negative energy culminating in a curse. Cutting down a tree or even being near one that falls naturally transfers the energy to the individual. Oaks, cottonwoods, and sycamores are especially important in this regard.
