Lour

Lour is a god of short days and long nights, of fine wines, mold and rot, and is attributed as the cause of rust. In some cases they are believed to have created death as well. Their worshippers are known as the Loucry who envision him as a goat without eyes and gaping mouth, an eye etched into a plate of obsidian, or a body of arms hidden beneath a mass of endless hair. The Loucry are diffuse and widespread, gathering often in secret though in the open in the more tolerant cities. Some see Lour as a symbol of cleansing in a corrupted world whereas others think Lour is a necessary corruption. This is Lour’s most recognized name: the Good Corrupter. There is no organized religion around Lour, though common themes in worship are the absense of prayer and thought for all words addressed to Lour are spoken openly. Death or the dying are sometimes associated with Lour though more frequently are rusted metal, soured wine, and molded food and wood which are ingested, burned, buried, or spread as offerings in long rituals held during the night or twilight. Ash is sometimes included as a symbol of finality and unchanging state. The site at Eriannai called [Silent Hill] is a notable case of this and has become a place of worship for the Loucry of that region and even some beyond.
