Raymond Kingston

President of Chorus II

Raymond Kingston (born 2742) is the President of Chorus II. A former corporate titan, Kingston rose to political prominence on the strength of his impeccable business acumen. Over the course of three decades, he built and led multiple multi-billion credit conglomerates spanning various sectors. For many, his election was an inevitable outcome - for he was a man who understood the intricacies of economic development. Kingston brought with him the promise of continued prosperity for Chorus II. His focus on development and trade earned him widespread support among Chorus II’s elite and civilians alike. Yet, in recent years, his ideals have clashed with the political realities of the Union.   It is no secret that Kingston stood in firm opposition to the reformation of the Galactic Systems Union, viewing it as a step backwards into militaristic government, centralised control, and a force that would inhibit the potential future growth of Chorus II. Much to his anger, Chorus II’s high-ranking military officials overruled his power and agreed to join the Union, declaring that the military unity the GSU would provide was not a matter of commerce, but of survival - something which Kingston had no authority over. This act of perceived betrayal effectively coerced the President into providing his signature of agreement out of fear of invoking martial law in the worst case scenario.   Kingston is a sharp, calculating man who is unafraid to speak his mind. He carries himself with the confidence of a man who once made markets bend to his will. Although diplomatic, he remains openly critical of the GSU and it is quite often that he holds contrarian viewpoints during council meetings amongst its leaders.
