Background
The Omega Legion stands as the most formidable weapon humanity has ever forged. Born of the blood and sweat of the Praetorian Program which preceded it, they are the culmination of all humanity has learned about warfare, training and augmentation. They are the very pinnacle of military might. Where others falter, the Omega Legion endures - unstoppable, unyielding. They are the spear that pierces the heart of the enemy, and the shield that guards humanity from annihilation. In all the fires of war, they have never once failed. They are the ultimate line of defense and the scourge that strikes down the enemy without mercy. And they know nothing of fear.
Training
Candidates for the Omega Legion are chosen from an elite group of Commandos across human space, each one already a veteran in their own right, recognised for their extraordinary combat prowess, mental strength and strategic acumen. The training they undergo is nothing short of the brutal, even for these seasoned warriors.
The first phase is designed to prepare their bodies for the excruciating genetic and chemical augmentations that will transform them into something beyond human, pushing their physical capabilities to superhuman extremes. The second phase focuses on acclimatising the Legionnaires to these new bodies, forcing them to relearn everything in more gruelling exercises that push even their enhanced forms to the brink.
Alongside this, candidates must master advanced education in mathematics, the sciences, military strategy, politics and history. Upon completing their training, Legionnaires are outfitted with their own CRYTHOS power armour and select weapons from a custom-designed array, fully prepared to carry out their mission.
Psychology
Becoming a Legionnaire requires a Commando who is already a rare breed, a one-in-a-million even among the elite. These soldiers epitomise the pinnacle of physical prowess, mental resilience and strategic brilliance. However, what emerges from Legionnaire training is something far beyond that.
To many, Legionnaires are no longer considered truly human, let alone the same person they once were. The jovial Commando who once led his squad in laughter now emerges as a quiet, emotionless entity. Their discipline is absolute; they engage with others only when necessary and speak solely on matters of the utmost importance.
A Legionnaire carries an aura of unyielding authority and intimidation, speaking with enough clarity to command respect without ever needing to raise their voice. An imposing figure of raw strength and lethal precision, they inspire both awe and fear in those who encounter them.
Biology
Through the augmentations bestowed upon them, Legionnaires possess extraordinary physical conditioning far beyond human limits. Even without their armour, the average Legionnaire can deadlift up to 5 metric tons, run at speeds of up to 60 km/h, and endure multiple gunshot wounds from lower-caliber ballistics before succumbing to fatal injury. Their reaction time, measured in the heat of combat, averages just 3 milliseconds.
Their senses are far more acute than ordinary humans, enabling them to see in near-total darkness, hear the slightest sounds, and detect scents with remarkable precision. Their mental processing is equally enhanced, allowing them to think and react at speeds unthinkable for unmodified humans. Their resilience is formidable; they can survive wounds that would swiftly kill even a trained soldier, and their augmentations grant them a limited regenerative healing factor, enabling them to recover from most injuries. Their digestive systems are optimised to extract 100% of nutrients from their food, meaning they produce minimal waste.
When they don the CRYTHOS power armour, these enhancements are magnified to an even greater degree. Legionnaires can lift up to four times more than their unarmoured capacity, sprint at sustained speeds of 95 km/h, and their reaction time becomes so fast it allows them to bullet-time. The power armour further enhances their durability, with reinforced metal plating and energy shields making them nigh-invulnerable on the battlefield.
