Eden is considered to be the most beautiful world to exist in GSU territory. The planet is covered in a massive variety of vibrant and colourful animal and plant life which make it appear like a world out of a fantasy story. A more recently colonised human world, Eden has served as the GSU’s primary supplier of agricultural goods after the fall of Arbor. While the planet isn’t able to match the production output of its predecessor, Eden is nonetheless currently instrumental to the stability of the GSU.
Technology
[MILITARY TECHNOLOGY]
[CIVILIAN TECHNOLOGY]
Much like other populous human planets in the sector, Eden enjoys a high level of technological advancement in many areas of civilian life and military. Its tech level would be roughly synonymous to that of Terra or Outreach’s and so not exactly on the level of Chorus II, at least where civilian life is concerned. The planet is protected in orbit by a network of 150 orbital defense platforms and a home fleet consisting of a couple hundred GSU warships.
Society and Culture
Being spread across the vast surface of an entire world, the cultural norms and social conventions on Eden can be considered to be as varied and complex as those on Terra, Chorus II and Outreach. However one thing of note is the generally calmer demeanour of its residents, a fact which has been observed by many tourists visiting the planet. In a way, the inhabitants almost always appear to be in a relaxed and peaceful state, though not so much as to come off as creepy.
As a result, those who live on Eden are considered to be among the kindest, most charitable and most pleasant people in the Union. It is speculated that the very nature of the planet itself, with its seemingly boundless beauty, is at least partially responsible. As a result, Eden has the lowest crime rate out of any world in the GSU. Even Terra.
It is not only humans who inhabit this planet either, as significant populations of vampires and Lycans, as well as smaller populations of various other supernatural species also coexist peacefully with one another.
A small population of Varanus also resides on this planet. While they interact with other species, they primarily keep to themselves—not out of xenophobia, but because they have established a close-knit community with its own customs and traditions. Many aspects of their culture stem from their time in the Imperium, though they have evolved over time due to their separation from the empire. This includes adapted naming conventions, distinct dress styles, beauty standards, courtship rituals, and etiquette. Artistic expression through poetry and the pursuit of self-mastery through meditation are deeply valued traditions. Additionally, a strong warrior ethos persists among them, leading many Varanus to join Eden’s police forces or train as elite soldiers within the planet’s GSU military.
The Spectacle
Elysara is a paradise unlike any other. Its vast forests are filled with towering trees whose crystal-like leaves shimmer in the sunlight. The sky is a breathtaking blend of gold, violet, and deep blue, shifting as the day passes. The sun bathes the land in warm light, while gentle rivers of glowing water carve through the valleys, casting a soft radiance wherever they flow.
Strange, colorful clouds of energy drift through the air, moving like living things, painting everything in soft, shifting hues. Flowers bloom in every color imaginable, their petals changing shades as if responding to an unseen song in the wind. Wildlife thrives here—graceful creatures with glowing patterns roam freely, their eyes reflecting the magic of the world around them.
When night falls, the sky comes alive with brilliant auroras stretching across the horizon. The land is never truly dark; bioluminescent plants and trees glow softly, lighting up the forests and lakes in shimmering blues and silvers. Looking up, one can see unfamiliar constellations twinkling like diamonds scattered across an endless canvas.
History
Eden was colonised in the mid 2600s by several populations of humans from the systems of Terra and Chorus. The planet was naturally earth-like in its atmosphere and no terraforming was required as such. Quickly, cities were established and the populations spread across its surface. The planet immediately became known for its enchanting beauty and breathtaking vistas, attracting tourists from every corner of the sector. Much of its population also established farmsteads and grew businesses that way, earning Eden a revenue not just from tourism but also its agricultural output. After Arbor and Kasterborous, Eden became the third largest exporter in this sector. However following the fall of Arbor and the evacuation of Kasterborous, Eden now takes its place as first on that list.
Key Locations in Orbit
Azure: A massive, sapphire-blue moon with swirling bands of silver clouds that drift across its surface. Azura glows faintly at night, casting an ethereal, soft blue light over the land. The moon’s atmosphere crackles with energy, creating long, ghostly ribbons of auroras that stretch across the sky. Sometimes, these auroras descend into Elysara’s upper atmosphere, blending with the colourful clouds of energy.
