Tharkun the Wise

Tharkun was the legendary wood elf monk from Tol Eressa, and member of Immortals Bane.
He established a philosphical idea known as Tharkunism, which prioritises travelling over the world to gather as much varied knowledge as possible, to get a truly hollistic worldview. Tharkunite monks are now common across the sword coast, collecting knowledge wherever they can.
The Monastery of Tol Eressa, built between two swirling rivers, has had a great renaissance since Tharkun's day, being often called the "candle of the north" (a reference to Candlekeep, the south's haven of knowledge).
