Vag Thurin Mountainhome (V-og Th-ur-in)

The dwarves of Vag Thurin are highly skilled metalworkers, and the availability of thermal vents and magma pools within the mountainhome provides them with an abundant source of energy for their forges and machinery. They are able to produce high-quality weapons, armor, and other metal goods that are highly sought after throughout the land. The city itself is a marvel of dwarven engineering, with intricate underground tunnels, chambers, and passages carved out of the rock. Despite being contained entirely underground, it is a bustling metropolis. The main thoroughfares are lined with shops, workshops, and market stalls selling all manner of goods, from weapons and armor to finely crafted jewelry and works of art.

Demographics

The population of Vag Thurin is primarily made up of dwarves, with a small number of other races living and working within the city.

Government

The city is ruled by a council of the oldest and most respected dwarves, known as the High Council. They make decisions regarding the city's governance and economy, and are highly respected by the other dwarves. They report directly to the King-Under-The-Mountain, who lives and rules from Thor Dorahl.

Defences

The city is well-defended, with strong gates and walls, and only one entrance above ground. The entrance is heavily guarded, and visitors must be authorized and accompanied by a member of the city or have the vouch of one.

Industry & Trade

The dwarves of Vag Thurin are skilled craftsmen and metalworkers, and their goods are highly sought after throughout the land. They trade primarily with Thul Kuldir and the other dwarven mountainhomes, but also have dealings with the Sterian Kingdom and other nearby settlements.
