Xerxes

God of Strength, War, Monarchy, and Patron of Kings and Warriors

"Rest your souls upon the bedrock of law and justice that I have built by steel and blood."

Kings and Soldiers

As the God of War, Strength, and Legitimacy, Xerxes also patronizes kings and soldiers. Those who rule and those who fight to maintain order and justice can always rely on Xerxes to support them. As such, Xerxes is also known as the Lord of War for his everlasting commitment to taking the fight to the Infernal Order and their dark forces, both in the outer realms as well as the mortal realm. Among his champions are the most just rulers, the fiercest warriors, and the most tactical generals. Those who serve his ideals well in this life are rewarded in the next by earning their place in the fabled Jade Hall, where they may serve either in the Hall of Kings, the Hall of Champions, or the Hall of Strategems. Each hall is populated with great rulers, honorable warriors, and the finest tacticians, respectively. They aid the Lord of War in the war against the infernals from beyond the grave.

The True King

While Xerxes represents kingship and legitimacy, his ideals are only for those kings who rule with justice, honor, fairness, and wisdom. Kings who bankrupt their treasury or tyrannize their subjects for sport earn the ire of the Lord of War and risk losing his favor. In return, followers of Xerxes from among soldiers, peasants, and the like are expected to be loyal and diligent towards their rightful rulers. As such, the ideal of Xerxes is a society in which hierarchy, legitimate authority, and good conduct are all woven into a system that ensures everyone has their place and works to be useful to the community. Duty, honor, and wisdom are considered virtuous to the God of Strength.
