Valraath

God of Destruction and Slaughter

"I will not stop until reality is extinct."   Valraath, the God of Destruction, Murder, and Hatred, embodies the darkest aspects of evil and malice. He is a fearsome and malevolent infernal deity, depicted as a red-horned demon emanating an aura of pure malevolence. His demonic form is imposing and terrifying, exuding an intense aura of hatred and destruction. He is the patron of torturers and serial killers.   In his domain known as the Deadlands, Valraath's influence manifests as a twisted reflection of the material world. The realm is a desolate wasteland, ravaged by perpetual destruction and chaos. Ruined buildings, lifeless husks, rivers of lava, skies ablaze, and the merciless winds cutting through the very essence of those unfortunate enough to reside there all symbolize the relentless destruction Valraath seeks to unleash upon existence.   Valraath's insatiable hatred and burning desire for annihilation drive him to pursue the destruction of all things. His ultimate goal is to tear down everything that exists, from the mortal realms to the divine realms, and even reality itself. He is the embodiment of the tempestuous forces of murder and hatred, unleashing cataclysmic energies that seek to obliterate and consume.   To those who worship him, Valraath is the winds of hate, the storm of fear, and the embodiment of ruthless violence. His followers revel in chaos, destruction, and the spreading of suffering. They seek to carry out his dark will by spreading discord, inciting violence, and perpetuating acts of murder.

Holidays

Night of Bloodlust

While Valraath is not typically revered through joyful celebrations or holidays, the Night Elves of the Underdark, who fervently worship him, might observe solemn and macabre rituals to honor his dark influence. These rituals would serve as reminders of the destructive power they seek to embody and the chaos they wish to unleash.   This somber occasion is observed on the longest night of the year, when darkness envelops the world. The Night Elves gather in secluded caverns or within the depths of the Underdark to pay homage to Valraath. They engage in intense meditation, reflecting on the destructive forces within themselves and the power of hatred and malice. The atmosphere is filled with whispered prayers, ominous chants, and the reverberation of drums, symbolizing the impending chaos.   During the Night of Bloodlust, the Night Elves engage in rituals of self-inflicted pain and sacrifice, demonstrating their devotion to Valraath and their willingness to embrace destruction. They may engage in bloodletting ceremonies, where each participant offers a symbolic sacrifice to Valraath, representing their dedication to the cause of murder and hatred.   The night culminates with a grand bonfire, symbolizing the consuming flames of destruction. The Night Elves gather around the fire, casting effigies or symbolic representations of their enemies into the inferno, releasing their pent-up hatred and vowing to spread chaos in the name of Valraath.   While these observances may vary among different communities of Night Elves, the underlying theme remains the same—acknowledging Valraath's destructive power and expressing unwavering devotion to his ideals of annihilation and hatred.
