Tieflings
The Fiendish Folk
Scattered throughout the continent of Sol with no land to call their own, the tieflings are a race without a home. Born from a union with ancestral ties to the Nine Hells in the lineage of one of the parents, tieflings bear the mark of the fiendish planes in their appearance: horns, pointed tails, skin in shades of red, purple, blue, or black, and powers from the devil in their ancestry. Despite their fiendish ancestry, tieflings are no more inclined to evil than any other mortal race. However, due to the attitudes they are often met with in most cultures, tieflings may be more frequently pushed in that direction than others for their own survival. Around the continent, tieflings are met with scorn, judgment, and persecution. They are a wandering race with no true place to call home, and they can be found in communities throughout Sol.Naming Traditions

Culture
Culture and cultural heritage
Most aspects of cultural experience for tieflings depend on where they grow up. With no place to call their own, they have tended to assimilate or blend into the more dominant cultures around them. Often, they have non-tiefling parents, merely adopting their culture naturally. Though abandoned or lone tieflings may pick up the cultural traits they feel will provide them with the most safety.
Though tieflings often appear in families of outsiders, they do have a unifying cultural heritage: the fiends of the Nine Hells. While tieflings are certainly not evil by nature like their fiendish ancestors, they have adopted certain traditions such as the frequent worship of infernal gods or veneration of fiendish patrons.
Common Dress code
Tieflings tend to adopt the styles of the dominant area, though they may incorporate aspects of cultures they pass through as they are often on the move as a community. They have little in the way of expectations of physical modesty.
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
Tieflings often like to resemble their fiendish ancestors, using precious gems, dazzling accessories, and sleek garments to exude style. They prefer strong features and bold styles.
Gender Ideals
Tieflings are profoundly egalitarian. Due to their persecution, tieflings tend to strive for the equality and fairness they have historically been denied.
Courtship Ideals
Tieflings tend to be passionate in many aspects of life, including courtship. It is expected that tieflings will be surprised with gifts, dates, and strong gestures. They often find subtlety to be a sign of disinterest.
Relationship Ideals
Like courtship, tieflings appreciate bold expressions of passion in relationships. They have little stigma about divorce or even adultery. It is not unusual for a tiefling to take extramarital partners for the sake of pleasure or even emotional companionship. Flings come and go with ease.
