Misanthei

Goddess of Despair and Misfortune

Misanthei is the most sorrowful of the gods and is regarded as the saddest thing to ever exist. She is the Goddess of Despair and Misfortune, often called the Saint of Suicide. She is forever cursed with perpetual despair, forced to wander the cosmos for she is hated even by the denizens of her own realm, forced by her curse to be drawn towards suicide only to find that she can never truly die. She is seen as the source of mortal despair, depression, anxiety, and misanthropy. As one would imagine, she is one of the least popular gods and has no organization dedicated to her. Though, oddly, she is associated with another name and identity. In the northern kingdom of Kjarra, she is called 'Pelle', a male god of freezing winter, mountains, the moon, and, of course, suicide. There she is viewed with more neutrality but is often seen as a different entity than Misanthei, though, in truth, they are the same god. Her realm is the Frozen Void, a cold and barren realm of utter nothingness. It has been described as a neverending plane of ice and despair with absolutely nothing of interest to offer, which is also how the other gods have described Misanthei.
