Antius

God of Hunting, Animal Husbandry, and Herding

"You are my flock as they are yours."

The Woodland Man

Also called the Huntsman of the Celestials and the Woodland Man, Antius is the God of Hunting, Herding, Animal Husbandry, and the Wildlands. He is the patron of hunters, shepherds, rangers, and outlanders. Antius holds sway over the relationship between mortals and animals, taking dominion of everything from hunting to herding to the beast companions of rangers. The Woodland Man sees the lives of mortals and animals as interconnected, both relying on each other in key ways that make them interdependent. As such, any disruption to the cycle, such as overhunting, a crazed beast, or modification of natural life, is seen as an affront to Antius, which must be corrected. Those who count Antius as their patron make sacrifices of their best beasts to the Huntsman and speak his name when hunting or butchering. He is also a popular god with outlanders and rangers who live far away from civilization, offering protection to those who brave the wildlands with him. Antius has no divine realm of his own and exists in the continent's wilderness.
