United Nether States

The United Nether States (UNS) was the largest and most influential governing entity in the Nether, marking a period of unprecedented unity and organization in a dimension known for its harsh environment and fragmented tribal history. Formed around 200 ABF, the UNS represents a significant turning point in Nether history, marking the transition from a fragmented tribal society to a centralized and structured nation.

At its height, the UNS governed vast stretches of the Nether, including major bastions and fortresses that served as hubs for trade and military coordination. Its economy was primarily built on the extraction and distribution of gold, Netherite, and other resources unique to the Nether, enabling the Piglins to thrive in a hostile environment. The UNS also established a sophisticated system of governance, balancing tribal autonomy with centralized decision-making.

However, the UNS met its end at the hands of Nervall, a legendary figure from the Overworld who launched a relentless campaign against the Piglin leadership. In the aftermath of the Second Overworld Invasion, Nervall infiltrated the Nether, systematically dismantling the UNS's high command, assassinating its rulers, and destroying its strongholds. His actions culminated in the collapse of Piglin society, shattering their centralized government and reducing the once-mighty UNS to scattered, primitive tribes. This decisive blow plunged the Nether into a new dark age, erasing centuries of progress and leaving only ruins as a testament to the UNS’s former glory.

Today, the UNS exists only in historical records and the ruins of its once-mighty bastions. While it no longer holds sway in the Nether, its legacy endures as a symbol of what was once possible in a realm often defined by chaos and survival.

History

The Nether, a dimension smaller than the Overworld, was unified by the Piglins around 200 ABF. Its smaller landmass and relatively homogeneous population facilitated unification, though much of Nether life prior to this period remains shrouded in mystery.

Early Nether Society and the Rise of Piglins

Before unification, Piglins lived in tribal camps spread across the Nether's fiery expanse. These clans often clashed over territory and food, existing as a primitive and fragmented society. Their nomadic and survival-driven way of life dominated until external pressures forced significant societal change.

The turning point came when a portal from the Overworld opened into the Nether. A hunter tribe was the first to discover this anomaly and spread the news among the scattered Piglin tribes. The arrival of humans introduced new challenges: the humans began exploiting the Nether's resources with an efficiency that surpassed anything the Piglins had ever achieved.

The First Piglin-Human War

Early attempts by individual Piglin tribes to repel the humans failed, as the invaders fortified their positions with large, enduring fortresses. This culminated in the First Piglin-Human War, which necessitated the unification of Piglin tribes under a single leadership. Together, the unified Piglin forces launched a coordinated campaign that expelled humans from the Nether, ending their resource exploitation. However, the aftermath introduced a new menace: Withered Skeletons, undead variants of fallen human soldiers that plagued the Piglins.

The First Overworld Invasion

Fearing human retaliation, the Piglin Emperor built a massive army and launched the First Overworld Invasion five years after the war's end. This campaign lasted seven years but ultimately failed, as the humans pushed the Piglins back into the Nether and sealed the Nether-Overworld portals.

The Second Overworld Invasion

Thirty-five years after the portals were sealed, Umv16Uli , ruler of the Eden Kingdom, reopened the Nether portal to extract resources for his ongoing research into a cure for the undead virus. This action was discovered by the Piglin Emperor, who saw it as an opportunity to strike. A large-scale portal was constructed directly over the Edenian capital, sparking the Second Overworld Invasion.

Despite early Piglin successes, the invasion ended in disaster when Umv16Uli deployed a biological weapon that turned Piglins into undead whenever exposed to Overworld air. This forced the Piglins to retreat into the Nether, halting their campaign.

The Fall of Nether Society

Thirteen years after the failed invasion, Piglins fostered a human cult in the Overworld with the goal of assassinating Nervall, the Edenian prince. When the cult failed, Nervall pursued its members back to the Nether, initiating a campaign of vengeance. Using the Nether’s Wither Skeletons against their creators, Nervall destroyed most Piglin bastions, killed the Great Hog, and dismantled the UNS, collapsing the Piglin empire.

Return to Primitive Times

Nervall's campaign brought the Nether back to its pre-unification state. The Piglins, once a dominant and organized force, were scattered into primitive tribes, marking the end of their golden age and the fall of their empire.
