Sun Empire
The Sun Empire was formed a year after the barrier fell it’s dissolution marked the end of the Primitive Era.
Culture
The Karja during the Empire's time, also known as Old Karja were a very religious and honor centered tribe.
They characterized for their religiousness towards the Sun God and love towards the hunt, especially against the Dragons, most of them had a lot of respect towards members of the Hunter's Lodge, with a lot of them wanting to follow Dragon Hunting as a real career.
Assets
The Empire was rich on a ton of natural resources such as gold, iron, steel and farmable land.
History
During the Era of Eden, the town of Solarena was founded not far from New Eden, where the people worshipped the gods. A small religious sect would emerge from among them after Steve's punishment, who despised the gods for having punished them and began to exclusively worship the sun and the moon. After the barrier fell, they escaped from Eden through the Strait of Varon, leaving Solaris behind and landing in Katalana. Discovering their "Promised Land from the gods," they established Meridian as the capital of their empire and began expanding eastward to a small, unnamed island later called "Bone Island."
The sun tribes, who would name themselves Carja or “sand people” as they were derogatorily called by others, became the strongest empire of the primitive era: The Sun Empire. Ocaso, also known as the land of the Sun, was full of dragons due to the large number of Sniffers in the area, which were exploited by the sun tribes, unaware that they were the dragons' preferred food.
Due to the high number of dragons, the Karja were the first people to hunt them, building strong fortifications around Meridian and banning the breeding of Sniffers in the red land. During this time, the Karja expanded their empire throughout the land of the sun, creating new tribes all under Meridian's rule, including the (Ocasso), (Eclipse), (Alba), and (Aurora). The latter specialized in Sniffer breeding and harvesting the plants they unearthed, which made them frequent targets of dragon attacks. The aurorans were discontent with the attention Meridian paid to the dragon issue in Aurora, as they argued that not enough was being invested in the defense of their lands compared to Meridian, which was heavily fortified. This began to show the cracks in the Sun Empire.
After years of complaints from the tribes and the problems caused by the dragons, Meridian decided to eliminate them completely (in reality mainly out of fear of an attack on Meridian by Ragnarr the Titan). They chose to drive the Sniffers to extinction in order to starve the dragons. They spread the word to the rest of the world, and their decision enraged the aurorans, who lost their primary source of food. Finally, with Ragnarr, they monitored his location for months, preventing him from reaching other food sources. Due to his low energy, he was unable to leave the desert. The Karja lured him to the Eastern Island, where they ultimately ended his life, thus bringing an end to the Age of Dragons.
After Ragnarr's death, the cracks in the empire became more apparent than ever. The people argued that with the dragons extinct, there was no longer a need to send so many resources to Meridian since its protection was no longer a priority. Emperor Aurelios III, angered, crushed anyone who spoke against him.
Disbandment
The Sun Empire Civil War
The mistreatment of the tribes would lead to a civil war, first sparked in Aurora, which secretly spread word to the other tribes with the intention of attacking Meridian and killing Aurelios III. The message was received by Kartana, but due to their strong relationship with Meridian, they informed the emperor, who, furious, launched a preemptive strike on Aurora. This was expected, so the rebel tribes were able to resist the attack, though with heavy losses. Aurora managed to recruit Alba against Meridian, promising them independence, thus forming the Twilight Rebellion.
After the attack on Aurora, and fearing that Ocasso and Eclipse would join the rebellion, the emperor ordered the public execution of the local governor of Ocasso as an example, since he had expressed sympathy for the rebels and provided economic support to Aurora before the attack. This had the opposite effect, as Commander Saran Volkar of Ocasso launched a naval attack on Kartana days later, dealing a significant blow to Meridian's naval forces.
Eclipse joined forces with Ocasso, forming the Dusk Alliance, separated from Aurora but with the same goal of independence. The emperor underestimated Eclipse, and after their union with Ocasso, they launched an attack on the mines of Solaris with the intention of causing a collapse and preventing the alliance from strengthening. The plan failed, and Eclipse achieved a major victory in the Battle of the Solstice.
Despite sharing the same goal, the alliance forces did not unite with Aurora and Alba, leading to minor skirmishes along Eclipse’s borders. Such was the case in the Battle of the Strait, where Alba attempted to take land on the border with Eclipse but lost the battle.
By the second year, Meridian had recovered from the naval losses inflicted by Ocasso and launched an attack on Nova Island, where they captured the small town and threatened to invade Aurora. The captured people were forced to serve as soldiers against the alliance, and they also captured a military post in the Gulf of Borealis.
By the third year, with Nova completely under Meridian's control, they prepared to launch an attack on Aurora, which would end the Twilight Rebellion and, soon, the war. Seeing an opportunity, Commander Saran Volkar launched an attack on Kartana’s supply lines by sea and land, weakening Meridian and preventing their assault on Aurora. In this situation, Captain Amaros Fireblood of Meridian split the forces heading toward Aurora into two in an attempt to retaliate against Ocasso but failed due to Eclipse's defense, where they recaptured the Gulf of Borealis. The attack on Aurora failed due to the limited forces, and Aurora launched a campaign to retake Nova.
Ocasso made further advances in Kartana, cutting off all communication with the capital but avoiding a siege since they knew the city was impenetrable. Instead, with the support of Eclipse, they attacked the crops of Helios, starving the capital in hopes of causing instability within its walls. This led to massive protests within Meridian, during which the emperor’s own Red Guard eventually dragged Aurelios III into the streets to be executed by the citizens. Jiran I took the mantle of emperor after Aurelios and, following negotiations, granted independence to the Alliance with the Morning Treaty. He offered peace to the rebellion as well, but they refused due to the terms, prolonging the war for another year. It finally came to an end after Aurora recaptured the Port of Hydros.
