Atralian City
Atralian City is a sovereign city-state enclaved by the Eden Kingdom in the Nerboland World. With a population of 1,123,706, it is recognized as the largest city in the world and one of the most technologically advanced, owing to its origins in a different world. Atralian's unique history and cutting-edge infrastructure have positioned it as a center of innovation and culture in its new environment.
Structure
Atralian City operates as a democratic republic, with its presidents elected in accordance with the city-state's constitution. Unlike many other systems, Atralian imposes no limit on the number of terms a president may serve, allowing leaders to remain in office as long as they maintain electoral support.
History
Atralian was founded in 1560 in its original world. Rapidly attracting immigrants and investment, the city quickly became a hub of commerce, culture, and innovation. By the mid-19th century, Atralian had emerged as a global metropolis. It served as a financial and cultural capital within the North American Union, drawing talent and resources from around the world.
The discovery of the Command Block in 1893 solidified Atralian’s status as a technological leader. The city became a center for research and development, leveraging the Command Block to drive economic growth and enhance its global standing. Atralian’s skyline grew with structures that symbolized its dominance, and its reputation as a "city of opportunity" only deepened.
By 1992, tensions surrounding the Command Block reached a breaking point. The artifact had become a key strategic resource, and Atralian’s control over it placed the city at the center of a geopolitical standoff. Rival world powers accused Atralian of leveraging its Command Block to project influence globally, prompting an escalating crisis. A dangerous balance of power threatened by the existence of a single artifact capable of catastrophic consequences.
As international pressure mounted, demands were made for Atralian to relinquish control of the Command Block to a neutral body. The city’s refusal sparked fears of imminent military intervention. A coalition of global powers stationed forces at the Union's borders, threatening to destroy the country outright if it did not surrender the artifact. In response, Ericia Parval, Atralian’s mayor, weighed the city’s survival against the possibility of global war. Recognizing the existential threat, Parval chose an unprecedented course of action: using the Command Block to transport Atralian to another world.
The activation of the Command Block left a massive crater where the city once stood. Mistakenly believing that Atralian had been destroyed by an external attack, The North American Union retaliated against the rival nations. This chain reaction triggered the rapid disintegration of the Union and led to widespread devastation across Atralian’s original world.
Upon being transported, Atralian emerged in 1286 in the Nerboland World, within the borders of the Eden Kingdom. Initially, the city’s inhabitants sought to remain hidden, gradually adapting to their new environment. However, six months after their arrival, an Edenian explorer stumbled upon Atralian and reported its existence to King Lenin. The king promptly planned an expedition, possibly an invasion, to claim the newly discovered city. Before his plans could be executed, Nervall, returning from the Nether, disrupted Edenian governance. King Lenin was subsequently killed by Nervall.
The leadership of the Eden Kingdom passed to Nervall, who approached Atralian with diplomacy rather than aggression. Nervall arranged a peaceful meeting with President Ericia Parval, recognizing Atralian as a sovereign nation. In a groundbreaking agreement, Nervall officially granted Atralian independence, establishing it as a city-state within the Nerboland World. This accord ensured Atralian’s survival, autonomy, and a secure position in its newfound setting.
