The Viridian Glades
A small nation that exists in a forest north of Asteria. Neutral to the other large kingdoms, The Viridian Glades, existing in the forest that shares its names, is made up of small villages, and perilous patches of dense trees. Each village, built within the glades, has chosen a god to worship (sometimes multiple) and bases their laws and lifestyles off of their chosen deity. They may even name their village after the god (or at least a major landmark they live near). However, these villages are small in the grand scheme of things, so they have learned to understand each other and their faiths, abandoning the constant fighting over their ideals and banding together to help protect themselves from the other nations trying to take advantage of them or creatures of the forest who seek to expand their territories.
Within the dense parts of the forest exist a massive gathering of strong wildlife. Forged by the crucible of the early world and hidden away by the forest of the gods, these creatures are massive in size and incredibly strong, each claiming their own territory. They swiftly kill anything foolish enough to enter their boundaries or mess with their packs. However, these beasts are not mindless killing machines. Each have evolved in such a way to look at their territory as more than just land, but the way things act upon that land. For this reason, the citizens of The Glades have come to call them the Honored Beasts. For if one knows how honor each beasts code, one could walk the entire forest unharmed, but one wrong move and the beasts will treat them as any other prey.
The largest village, Doma, existing at the mouth of the deeper forest works as a middle ground for all of the villages. They are usually the first to offer aid and shelter to those who have lost their villages, and they have the strongest defenses since they are deep in the forest (however, that strength is minimal compared to the might of the other nations). They also serve to protect the sanctity of the deeper forest, also known as The Throne. The Chief and his fellow elders do everything they can to appease the beings in The Throne, as well as to prevent any one from stepping into it, for not only is the land their sacred to the citizens, but it also is well known that those who enter the Throne rarely ever come back.
