As the plane of Nemas was dying, a group of sorcerers and druids founded the city of Lonnhaven. The group was able to create a barrier around the Feywild to protect it from this Decay that consumed all natural energy. The sorcerers designed and maintained the magics while the druids laced it with enchantments to prevent the Decay from entering the city. The sorcerers’ families and the druidic circles have been able to maintain the protection of Lonnhaven and act as leaders beneath the Empress.
The last of civilization exists within Lonnhaven. It has developed into a society where magic is plentiful and influences everyone’s lives. Goodberries are the primary food source, magical rails join the wizarding schools, bardic colleges, and noble houses. Houses are build over the course of hours, not days. Spellcasting has become a quintessential part of the lives of Lonnhaven’s citizenry.
The world outside Lonnhaven has devolved into a carnivorous, militant competition for survival. Gnoll packs and orcish warbands run rampant around Nemas, picking on any weaker hunters and relying on shamans in their midst to provide food. Even these warbound tribes hide from the greater threats in the desert, as the native greater races from the Age of Turmoil have begun to resurface. Lonnhaven’s protective barrier receives dragon attacks on a regular basis along with an occasional giant peeking its head over the highest wall. These assaults are beaten back by the Empress’ Guard as the bloodlines strengthen the defensive dome. While the defenses of Lonnhaven are great, its inhabitants still requires raw materials to work with. Members of the Neman Corps are sent on these retrieval missions and scout the state of Nemas.
The campaign is primarily intrigue with at-will dungeon delving. Long forgotten civilizations, modern day mysteries, and political maneuvering all await the players. The modular design allows the players to pick and choose what is important while the cogs of conspiracy continue to turn in the shadows.
