Maccai is the leader of The Underground and the one responsible for hiring the adventurers for aid. A man with a lot on his plate and too little time on his hands, Maccai works tirelessly to restore as much order to the realm as he possibly can.

Personal history
Maccai was born into a moderately wealthy family in Kavatch, and grew up learning politics and economics from a young age. He was raised to believe in justice and order, and is highly against any form of anarchy or corruption. He worked his way up the ranks of the Kavatch Council all the way to the prestigious rank of Councilor, giving him a say in how the island should be governed. However, he soon realized that any positive changes he and other councilors tried to pass were constantly overruled by either a majority say, or by the High Councilor themselves. This frustration lead him to open his own personal investigation into the matter, leading to the formation of The Underground as he recruited close friends and fellow disgruntled co-workers. Since then, he and his associates have been working beneath the eyes of the council to uncover the deeply seeded corruption that plagues Kavatch in an attempt to restore any form of order to the government.
