Crown Warrant of Appointment
A Crown Warrant of Appointment signifies there is a satisfactory trade relation in place between the Grantor and the company, artisan, crafter, or tradeperson and that the goods nominated are suitable for supply to the Crown Household. Within the company supplying goods, there is a nominated person called the Grantee who is responsible in all respects for all aspects of the crown warrant. It takes at least five years of supplying goods or services to the member of the Crown Family before a company is eligible to have its application considered for recommendation by the buyer. It then goes to the Crown Warrants Committee, then to the grantor who may sign it. The grantor is empowered to reverse the decision of the committee, or even choose another candidate, therefore the final decision to grant a warrant is a personal one. Professions, Agencies, media, and government departments are not eligible.
Ichizoku Warrants of Appointment may be issued only by the senior hierarchies of the Ichizoku (Dai and Ko), their senior spouses or consorts, and up to five senior heirs, and by their Advisory Council (where applicable) as a whole.
