After entrenching their position in the Northern Wetlands at Lafallameaivet, the Ethelan marched west, following the Allameai River to the city of Khinbir. Khinbir was a large city, well fortified and the location of the Temple of Kirien the Red, Goddess of War. Nevertheless, it was conquered in short order, taking the elite Ethelan troops roughly two weeks. Martial law was immediately imposed for its residents and the environs.

In resistance, followers and clerics of Kirien lead a rebellion against their new Elven lords. The response from the Ethelan was swift and brutal, and remains controversial even to Ethelan historians to this day (many assuming it was caused by the Temple to Kirien). The city was razed, and many of its residents killed without trail or proof of association with the rebellion. Nearly twelve thousand Khinbir residents were slaughtered (about 3 in 5 of the population), and the city was utterly destroyed. It would take centuries for the city to return to its former glory, rebuilt in an Ethelan style and renamed the Ethelan name Elionneadra.

Despite the Ethelan hatred of Kirien and her domain, the temple survived the slaughter, and remains to this day. Rumours say Elionneadra's residents are under Kirien's charm.
