After taking Lafivgar, the Belsumese Empire quickly moved south over the Ilemseach plains, hoping to use the peaceful Condados as an avenue into Uremseach. Their advance was stopped outright at the newly refortified Avacouei on the Claypond River. Thereafter, the Belsumese Army turned their advance northward, slowly pushing mile by mile through the Ilemseach Woodlands over the course of a few years, leaving carnage in their wake. The advance pushed as far as Numunzat in Semseach. However, a particularly wet springtime for the Northern Wetlands prevented any further advance of the Belsumese, and bogged down their resupply efforts, as the Belsumese has little experience with wetland terrain.
