Katia (ka-tea-a)

Sand begins to stir and the Parin (tha-rin) begin to show their blazing buds. The wind howls through the mountains causing even the rocks to shake. The tall grass waves wildly, releasing the glowing lights of the Xarin (k-sa-rin). The Potamo slams against its banks gradually growing higher and higher, until it touches the clouds. These are the warning signs that a Katia is about to begin upon the area. These massive magical storms disrupt even the strongest of magic as it pulls it apart to fuel its own destructive power. Coving the area is an almost impenetrable darkness, swirling with what ever it can pull from the surrounding area, them proceeds to throw it else where. This storm can last for mere minutes or over the course of days; as they lazily drift along currents of air, coving areas upward to fifty miles. It has been said if one can find the middle of the storm; they are rewarded with a glimpse to the area only the gods tend to dwell. But making it though the storm is more difficult than is realized.   Tracking through a Katia hails problem of its own, harnessing wind with ease it pressurizes it into a condensed spiral motion routing out from its center. This wind is strong enough to make even the stalwart race be blown wildly around. If you can even enter the storm, the cover of it make it impossible for any light to shine through the storm. So no matter how good of night vision you would be flying blind. Even inside the storm you have the debris of everything the storm comes across being flung out at with record speeds. Now, the dangers only increase depending on where you find the Katia, as in the desert it reaches such an intense heat level it can easily melt the flesh right off your bones if the blazing, course sand doesn't pepper you full of holes first. With in the mountains it can completely destroy a mountain and move its contents everywhere exposing rather rare materials as the rocks can be refined as they peel off the mountain and fly through this crazy storm. Within the plains, you have the Xarin plant that when picked up by the storm breaks apart and the seeds are flung across the plains, as they find themselves implanted it what ever surface they come in contact with. Harnessing even a latent magical currents, this can cause the storm to begin to fling even magical effects from. Becoming a treat to even the Dragons who live for an eternity. This storm has shaped the live of everyone who live upon this forcing the settlement to have a plan if ever one of these hit.   Now luckily as they begin to find out there was a pattern for these storms they always seemed to strike around the middle between Kymotia and Kilous so they made a third season: Mago Katia. They have also found that after a storm passes they can find a baby elemental where the center of the storm stoped. So for every bad thing about the storm, at least they have a predictable pattern and a gift of life to give back.

Manifestation

The swirling clouds, the spray of debris, and the sweet smell of magic coats the air. Ranging from the colors it pulls from the surrounding area. Regardless what color it takes or sights you see, hunker down where you are or you may quickly find this view will be your last.
We look for hope, finding faith within a new rock the Magoni (ma-goo-knee). This mineral has an unprecedented ability to absorb latent magic...so what if this is our ticket to stop, to stop the Katia.  -Excerpt from the Alliance Ceremony: Given by Mapalan (ma-tha-land)
