Creation Story

In the primordial age, when the cosmos was a swirling abyss of shadow and chaos, there existed only Zemros, the Sun-Father. His radiant form was the first light, piercing the void with warmth and brilliance. Yet, despite his infinite glow, Zemros felt the weight of solitude. From his own essence, he wove the first threads of divine creation and called forth Ara, the Verdant Weaver, whose presence brought life and vibrancy to the desolate void. Together, they crafted the world, shaping mountains, seas, and skies into a sanctuary of beauty.   As the world took form, Zemros and Ara sought protectors for their fragile creation. Rothar, the Stormshield, was born from a spark of Zemros's fire, his thunderous voice instilling courage and honor in the hearts of mortals. From Ara's gentle twilight, Edia, the Harmonious Arbiter, emerged to teach the virtues of peace and reason, tempering the fury of Rothar's storms.   From the infinite expanse of the heavens, Qharos, the Keeper of Threads, descended. He wove the tapestry of fate and destiny, granting mortals the wisdom to navigate their lives. Beside him came Zeella, the Celestial Voyager, who adorned the night with stars and unveiled the mysteries of the arcane, guiding mortals to seek the unknown beyond their horizons.   Wexdon, the Iron Artisan, arose from the molten heart of the world, a smith whose creations armed mortals with tools of protection and courage. Baros, the Grey Pilgrim, walked the boundary between life and death, ensuring the balance of existence and guiding wandering souls to their final rest.

The Rise of Kiltris and the Unspoken Kindred

But the divine harmony was not eternal. Kiltris, the Shadowed Queen, emerged from the dark corners of existence, where even the light of Zemros could not reach. She was the goddess of death and weakness, whose beauty masked an insatiable hunger for despair. Kiltris, seeking dominion over the balance of life and death, gave birth to the Unspoken Kindred—a host of malevolent deities born of chaos and shadow. Chief among them was Nizius, the Butcher of Envy, who rallied the Kindred in rebellion against the Luminous Covenant.

The Sealshatter War and the Fallen Seal

The heavens erupted in a cataclysmic war. The Sealshatter War, as it came to be known, saw gods and mortals alike consumed in its fury. Kiltris and her brood unleashed plagues of despair and corruption, staining the once-vibrant lands with death. The Covenant fought valiantly, each god channeling their divine essence to protect the world they cherished. Zemros’s sun scorched the battlefield, Rothar’s storms roared with unrelenting fury, and Wexdon’s forged weapons turned the tide time and again.   In a desperate gambit, the gods pooled their divine might to carve a colossal abyss into the earth, the Fallen Seal. This chasm became a prison for the Unspoken Kindred, its depths suffused with the light of Zemros and the protective enchantments of Zeella. Kiltris, refusing to abandon her progeny, cast herself into the seal, her malevolence forever bound to the pit’s unending darkness.

The Covenant’s Withdrawal

With the Kindred imprisoned, the world lay in ruins, scarred by divine and infernal conflict. The gods, burdened by the devastation their war had wrought, swore an oath upon the stars. They would no longer walk openly among mortals. Instead, they would choose champions—heroes to bear their blessings and defend the balance of the world. The gods withdrew to the celestial realms, watching from afar, their intervention reserved only for moments when the seal weakens and the darkness threatens to rise again.   Thus, the Luminous Covenant stands as both protectors and mourners of a world born from light and shadow, eternally vigilant against the return of the Unspoken Kindred and their mother, Kiltris.
