Glowflies

Small amorphous creatures with telekinetic powers. Their means of digestion is uniquely useful. They use their telekinetic abilities to grasp onto and molecularly decompose just about anything they can reach. The decomposition process causes the floating objects they digest to glow, providing a steady source of light.
In the village of Kernelle, glowflies are kept propped up in tall wooden cisterns to provide light to the village. The village Keepers are tasked with keeping them fed and entertained, which is a difficult task given their mischievous nature.
During village holidays, the Keepers will feed them decorative objects to give the town a festive appearance.
