Ephraim Character in Nataal | World Anvil

Ephraim

"Please, he's dying!"

"Well, yes, I can see that...oh, you want me to do something about it?"

Ephraim is Eli's twin brother. He is the very first robot Jerrod and Blizz meet after they crash land on Nataal. He brings them to his village to find help for Israel, who was badly wounded from the crash.

Role in the Plot

Ephraim fills the "Friend along the Way" role in the Personal Journey plot archetype, as well as the "Rule Explainer/Mentor" in the Adventure in a Strange World plot archetype. He is the first Robot the player meets on Nataal and accompanies the player throughout the game offering insight on the world's rules.   At some point in the middle of the plot, Ephraim gets into a fight with Jerrod and the two end up separated.   After Jerrod and Ephraim are reunited, Ephraim ends up getting killed shortly thereafter. His death spurs Jerrod on to complete the "true goal" of bringing Brother back to his senses.
