Crystal Welly

Crystal Welly one of the main cities at the east of eldoran. The city was created to harvest the magical crystals that grow at the bottom of the lake and to be an anchor point for the mines in the north. With fresh water, fish, ore and wood near it, it quickly grew and became independent from outside sources. Due to the magical nature of the crystals, the city also became an haven for mages and alchemist, the city houses 2 of the 5 big mage universities in eldoran and produces a ton of great mages and alchemists every year. These crystals are most often used to craft mana prismas or to be directly used in alchemists rituals and recipes. Mana prismas are objects, that instead of splitting/focusing light are able to split/focus magic, these prismas are used in some machines or wizard staffs, to either increase the radius or effect of an spell, but weaken it, or to decrease the radius/effect but make the spell stronger on a small focussed point. In the last few years the city also started to build more complex machineries and made more dangerous experiments, which also led to the laser experiment. In this experiment multiple mana prismas and alchemical machines were used to take a lot of concentrated essence and fire it into an focused beam. The beam was even stronger then the alchemists anticipated, as the beam fired it was so energetic and hot, that instead of just vaporizing what was directly hit, it also vaprozied everything in an 1000m radius. This is how the big hole in the mountain north was created. An 1000m big hole that goes completly through the mountain and has cooled down magma at the sides, giving it an distinc look, which is why today it is called the magma road. But this experiment wasn't the last and the city is still experimenting until this day, only time can tell if this will end in an disaster or an scientific breakthrough that will forever change eldoran.
