Session 7: The Forgotten Story
General Summary
The Fondudes, who had been making their way through the ancient and mysterious dungeon at Baatruud Sum, found themselves in a predicament as they entered the third chamber. The room was completely filled with a dense magical darkness, making it impossible to see anything. They couldn't even see their own hands in front of their faces. As they stumbled through the darkness, they triggered several traps that punished them with deadly blades, fiery blasts, and mind curses.
Despite the challenges, the Fondudes persevered, using their wits and strength to locate levers that would lower the level of the darkness. After much trial and error, they were able to lower the darkness below a certain level, completing the challenge and retrieving The Compass.
The party then entered the fourth and final room, which was a welcome relief after the dangers of the previous chamber. The murals in this room depicted a battle including the armies from the previous rooms, with backgrounds representing just about every region of Naemh. Prominently featured were the three Nelde figures leading their armies, as well as six figures - a triton, a tiefling, a Dragonborn, a human, a dwarf, and an elf - who seemed to shimmer with power.
When the Fondudes placed The Compass on the pedestal, the magic simulation began. It showed the evil armies, directed by The Nelde, handily defeating the armies of Naemh. But towards the end, the six figures appeared and confronted The Nelde. Each performed an "attack" on one of The Nelde, with their magical power shimmering and glowing with blue light. The elf monk channeled Ki energy, the Dragonborn hooded figure wielded two daggers, the dwarf paladin channeled divine power through their sword, the Triton figure clutched their holy symbol, the tiefling played his lyre, and the human spoke powerful arcane words. As they watched, the six figures from the statues shone bright, each unleashing their own unique abilities to strike down The Nelde. And in the end, it was their combined power that proved to be the decisive blow, defeating The Nelde and casting them away.
As the simulation faded, the Fondudes retrieved the Compass and a mysterious paintbrush, discovering a hidden passageway leading them back outside. As the party emerged from the underground chambers of Batruud Sum, they were met with the sight of the terrifying Nelde, their shadowy figures writhing in frustration as they attempted to break into the dungeon. Despite their efforts, the entrance remained sealed, and with a final hiss of anger, the Nelde summoned a swirling portal and vanished within its depths.
The Fondudes, exhausted but triumphant, took a moment to catch their breath before setting their sights on the next adventure. With the compass in hand, they knew they had a long journey ahead of them, chasing the magical artifacts that lay scattered throughout the land. But they were undaunted, for they knew that with each artifact they retrieved, they brought Naomh one step closer to peace and prosperity. And so, with the dawn of a new day, they set out on their quest, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
