Dan Shrine

The Dan Shrine is a small and crumbling structure that is nestled among the dense foliage of the Tywill Forest. The shrine is made entirely of stone, and it is surrounded by a wild and overgrown garden of flowers and plants that have grown up around its base. The stone of the shrine is ancient and worn, and it is stained with the green and brown patina of age and neglect.   The shrine is a simple and unassuming structure, with a single, arched entrance that is partially obscured by the overgrowth of vines and weeds. The walls of the shrine are adorned with carvings and reliefs that depict scenes from the legend of Dewin Arwr.   Despite its dilapidated state, the Dan Shrine is a place of great mystery and intrigue, and it is said to be guarded by powerful magic and ancient curses. It is a place that is both revered and feared by the people of Cyfandir, and it is a place that is often avoided by all but the bravest and most foolhardy adventurers.   —-   The shrine is dedicated to Dewin Arwr, a hero who is remembered in legend as one of the greatest champions of the kingdom. According to the stories, Dewin was a human who was skilled in the arcane arts, and he is credited with perfecting the Arcane Link magic that helped defeat the great evil known as The Nelde. Dewin was buried in an underground tomb beneath the shrine, and his remains are said to be guarded by powerful magic and ancient curses. Despite its former importance, the Dan Shrine is now a forgotten and neglected place, and it is rarely visited by travelers or pilgrims. The shrine is said to contain a hidden entrance to an underground dungeon that leads to the tomb of Dewin, but this entrance has long been lost to the overgrown wilderness. Some say that the shrine is cursed, and that those who dare to disturb its ruins will suffer the wrath of Dewin's powerful magic. Others believe that the shrine is a place of great power and mystery, and that those who are brave and foolhardy enough to explore its hidden depths might be able to uncover its ancient secrets.   ---   There is a prominent, life-size statue of what is presumably Dewin Arwr. The statue has one hand stretch out, with an open hand and the palm facing forward. There are a series of inscriptions on the base of the statue.   The first engraving shows a figure in robes standing before the statue, with its hand extended outward. Above the figure's head is a symbol that appears to represent the Arcane Link. The figure's hand is also shown, with lines of arcane energy connecting it to the open palm of the statue. A caption beneath the engraving reads, "Create the Link and Touch the Hand." The second engraving shows the same figure with its hand on the palm of the statue, with a burst of light emanating from the point of contact. The statue is also shown with lines of arcane energy emanating from it, with the symbol of the Arcane Link hovering above it. A caption beneath this engraving reads, "The Way is Opened."   The third engraving shows the same figure descending into a dark, winding staircase that leads into the depths of the earth. The figure is shown holding a torch, with the walls of the staircase lined with glyphs and runes. A caption beneath the engraving reads, "The Tomb of Dewin Arwr Awaits."   The engravings are old and worn, but they are still legible. It is clear that they were created by skilled craftsmen who had a deep knowledge of the arcane arts. The engravings provide a clear set of instructions for creating the Arcane Link and entering the tomb of Dewin Arwr, and they suggest that the process is one of great importance and reverence.
