Changelings
Rather than being a separate race all-together, "changeling" is simply the term applied to any individual that, while having Faerie blood somewhere in their ancestry, is not a full-blooded Fae. They have become more common with the increasing number of human adventurers, merchants, and scholars flocking to Namkural. While they are regarded on Torresind with a mixture of awe and fear, most Faerie races look down on their half-blood brethren. For this reason, many emigrate to Torresind in order to find a better life. Their most common region in the human lands is Kamoor.
Though changelings are still relatively uncommon, their most frequent parentage includes either luna sidhe, copper sidhe, or shadowkin. The cultures of these races are the most tolerant of mortal-faerie mixing, and so their nations are the only real refuges for changelings on Namkural itself. Half-breeds from other Faerie peoples are rare, but not unheard of. As more and more nations open their borders to human merchants in order to compete with rival economies, it is possible that this will change.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Changelings often have a mixture of features from both parents, though their slightly pointed ears give them away as something other than human. Commonly, they mature at a rate similar to humankind, but their actual lifespan will more resemble their Faerie parentage.
Civilization and Culture
Culture and Cultural Heritage
Many make livings as explorers or adventurers, because Faerie immunities make them particularly suited to tolerating both civilized lands and the faewild. However, it is the unspoken fate of most changelings to never feel as though they truly have a place to call home. Being split between two planes makes them strangers on both.
