Postknight Order

Structure

The Postknight Order is divided regionally. On the world of Namidee, a Postmaster General is assigned to each of the three continents. Outlying or unclaimed islands are within the domain of the nearest continent. The Postmaster General divides their territory as they see fit, typically along political or geographical borders, and assigns a Postmaster to each region.   Beneath the Postmasters are the Postknight Commanders, who each supervise a district within a region. They assign Postknight Captains and Postknight Lieutenants to divisions within that district. Postknight Captains are directly in charge of recruiting, training, and—when necessary—disciplining Postknights. Postknight Lieutenants manage the logistics and scheduling of their division.   "Postknight" is a universal term within the order. Any member, regardless of rank, will reasonably answer to Postknight, though order members are expected to use the appropriate title. Moreover, the term applies to five separate levels of knight. As a Postknight team grows and achieves more in the name of the order, their superiors will send them on more perilous, delicate, and lucrative missions as they deem appropriate. These ranks are informal, and all Postknights are subordinate to Postknight Commanders and Lieutenants. Postknight teams of high rank are afforded more flexibility in their assignments and have a certain amount of clout in regional decision making.   While each Postmaster General is formally equal, the Postmaster General of Degotoga on Namidee is traditionally treated as the tiebreaker and order leader.

Public Agenda

The Post Code

  1. To deliver anything, anywhere, to anyone.
  2. To remain free and neutral of all individuals and organized entities.
  3. To provide safe passage between all reachable locations for all goods, services, and peoples.
  4. To document, archive, and study the land and its inhabitants, maintaining current records thereof.
  5. To respect the sanctity of personhood and be a part of the multiverse's natural flow.

History

The Postknights were born on the continent of Degotoga on the world of Namidee. After the 17th of the Fifty-Seven Wars, a human scout named Tahki Odakoa sought to deliver aid to their home nation, far from the army into which they'd been conscripted. Tahki's association with a particular nation made travel through certain lands difficult and impossible in others. According to legend, they ripped off their armor at an impassable checkpoint, disavowed both their current nation and their homeland, and demanded to pass based on their neutrality. The guard allowed Tahki to pass, but left her post and followed them to be sure of their intentions. Upon reaching the other end of her nation, she was stripped of her rank and title for abandoning her post. Her honor tarnished, she renounced her heritage and followed Tahki. Her name was Kithri Stalhart, a halfling warrior who would become the first Postknight when Tahki formed the order.
