Founding

The horn was sounded and mists fell upon Kheltar; the river Saldanha runs rapids while the mist Khelandria yet fills the skies.

In the days after the cleanse, the Khelandrians were lost. The outlanders no longer had a queen to follow or an army to protect them. They looked to the skies and correlon provided; the first Eldans were born. The Eldans carried the striking look of the old Khelandrians and so the people looked to them for leadership. They were born always of two human outlanders but could never birth their own child, but they lived through many generations of human elders. Each born eldan knew a sense for the world and had a great capacity to lead. Faced with warring clans seeking expansion, the Kheltan tribes of the west and their tribe Eldans were falling when correlon granted them a gift. The visions lead the Eldans of old to form a coalition. Each in their right pursued a quest for one of the hundred horns guided by the visions. Many died in this pursuit leaving their tribes to human leaders. Those who returned sounded a symphony across the lands with it they formed Kheltar. Mists fell upon Kheltar covering the lands and when invaders came they were blinded by it, sitting ducks for the tribe's next ambush.   Many of the tribes abandoned to human leaders fell but many stood hornless, but few remain today. Many see a horn as the marking of a true tribe and those without one have mostly been overtaken by tribes that do over the years.
