The King's Abyss

The King's Abyss is a tomb located in Avalateur. It was made out of the ruins of an old Groundling city, and all Avalatean royalty has been buried there since the country's inception.

Purpose / Function

The King's Abyss was originally a Groundling Solori city, meaning it is a round pit in the ground where living spaces and other rooms are built into the ground with the pit in the center. This particular city was left mostly intact, and so the original Avalateans sought to convert it into a monument. Each of the rooms was repaired and refurbished into tombs for the royal family. Once a member of the royal family dies, their casket and whatever personal items or gifts are lowered into their designated room. The room is then sealed off permanently. The Abyss isn't full yet, but it is getting close.
