The Coaster
For a land mass as large as Nacre Mollusca, transportation around the Fairgrounds was originally no easy feat. Despite being lightweight ethereal beings, spirits were still required to walk long distances if they wanted to get from one side of the world to another. It wasn’t long before a band of ingenious spirits took note of this and began devising a contraption to aid in resolving this issue. While they could have built something more tame and simplistic, these spirits were intent on adding onto the spirit of the Fairground itself. Something that would carry the feeling of thrill and excitement forward, while also transporting considerable quantities of guests at the same time. What better way to achieve both of these goals than by building a colossal roller coaster train that would encompass the entirety of Nacre Mollusca.
Plans to set the coaster’s creation into motion began instantly, as spirits involved in its construction began harvesting fine wood for its frame. The construction process was long and challenging, however with every yard the team gained in process, their resolve only skyrocketed. After decades of hard work, dedication and grit, the Coaster was open for transport, earning much appreciation and excitement from the Fairgrounds residents. The ride was fast yet smooth, thrilling yet strangely calming as well. Not to mention, it allowed spirits to cover large distances in a matter of seconds; distances, which used to take minutes, even hours on end to complete. To some spirits, the Coaster was also something pleasing to look at. The way it surrounded the Fairgrounds in a warm embrace gave the Coaster an added charm which really made it fit in with its environment.
The Coaster, however, would not remain this way forever. Upon their arrival to Nacre Mollusca, the Ringmaster was intent on stripping the Fairground of all that made it innocent in welcoming. The Coaster was the first to undergo its conversation. The once enduring wooden frame was now encased in frames of dark metal. What once used to be a welcoming coaster to any and all guests was not a twisted machine for petty enjoyment.
