Respirator
The respirator is installed over the mouth and nose, allowing the user to breathe underwater without an oxygen tank. Attached to the side of the mask are two arms that, similar to gills, draw oxygen from the surrounding water and deliver it to the lungs. The arms are covered in “scales” which allow water to enter through small holes, where it enters a chamber that separates the oxygen from the liquid. The internal filter utilizes fine threads with holes smaller than water molecules, so that only air is able to pass through. The oxygen is then compressed and stored in a miniature storage tank. The respirator is powered by a small internal mechatronic core. The respirator is attached to the face via a hinge around the jaw, allowing for it to be lowered around the chin.
