Mechatronic Core
The mechatronic core serves as the power source for all cybernetics. It is a mobile rechargeable battery that comes in numerous sizes, configurations, and wattages. These factors depend on what cybernetics the user has that need to be powered. Mechatronic cores can be recharged through hydropower, allowing it to maintain a charge underwater while still in use. They are usually implanted in the chest or on the spine, depending on its weight and size. Some heavily augmented individuals, such as cyborgs, will require multiple mechatronic cores to support their heavy power usage. In the most extreme cases, they might even have a dedicated core for each limb. This adds a lot of weight, requiring a cybernetic compressor to replace and strengthen the skeletal and muscular system. This also generates a lot of excess heat, boiling the water around the cyborg. Excessive coolant and heat spreaders are required to dissipate this heat.
