Sotheim Forest. A dark and dangerous place. It is said to be cursed. And indeed this would make sense to the common onlooker. Frequent Kobold and Goblin attacks become the end of travelling merchants. People who sleep in the suffer from unbelievably realistic night-terrors and on top of that, there are reports of a creature that has consumed parts of the forest in the north. Now fleshy vines hang from the trees, pulsating slowly as if they are veins. There is only one small settlement in the forest. Havik is one of the oldest settlements in the surrounding areas, some say it is even older than the Lithandel of old.

But there is more. Tombs, caves, ancient holy sites. There are many locations that might be of interest for an adventuring party. If they are willing to risk their lives that is.

Geography

Dark, wiry trees make up the forest. They almost resemble skeletal hands. Most of them have lost their leaves, or never had any to begin with.

Fauna & Flora

The fauna in the Sotheim Forest is as inhospitable as it gets. Worgs, giant spiders or goblin tribes are only the smallest problem a travelling party might encounter. Many, much more dangerous, creatures lurk in the many caves and ruins.
