The Aredián Republic

Founding

When news arrived of Conión’s destruction to the Imperial backed government of the Aredián, it was reported that the Primer didn’t even announce their resignation and simply left a letter and disappeared. With the Senate in disarray, the Third Republic Party took the opportunity to be the new leaders of the nation. A senior Senator who was a member of the opposition but was not a member of the Third Republic party, Giotto Vuono was chosen as Primer (Head of Government), and a former Shipwrights Union leader, Punua Proto, would be elected as President (Head of State).

Following the establishment of a new government, the Republic would launch a long military and political campaign to reclaim the rest of the Aredián Sea from the Navaleian Islands southward to the Loa’a Loa Islands. Politically, with the Third Republic Party now a large part of the government, it wasn’t hard to rally the rest of the isles to their side. Militarily it was far more difficult to battle with the Remnant Arenian Fleets who had turned to being warlords, where until the Republic Fleets arrived, the Remnant Fleets' only opponents were militants, commonly from the Shipwrights Union. One infamous flotilla, the 1st Valian Fleet, even resorted to using slaves on the island of Waewae Hema. Which resulted in said fleet being taken over by the future Saint Dora Perreti, who led a revolt against her captors and joined the Republic Fleets. Eventually, through seemingly miraculous victories and working closely with the Union, the seas would be clear from the Warlords and would be forced to retreat back to their home ports with little naval force left by 2174. By 2301 the Republic’s capital would move from Uru to the I-3 after critical salvage was discovered by a group of mercenaries off the shores of East Crevice City that was able to neutralize the rogue Caretaker AI. This was a huge boon in power for the Republic, as they now had access to the advanced Sanctuary city’s resources resulting in the end of rationing, the ability to repair old ships and construct new ones etc.
