United Kingdom of Charstania Annexed

Running high off the victory against a major rival of the Tiran, the Arenian Empire would ramp up their political campaign to absorb the United Kingdom of Charstania. Long debates within the Kingdoms government would go on for months if they should accept annexation into the Federalized empire, or risk remaining independent. The biggest opponent to annexation being the royal family, in particular Reina Cèlia Volta, who reminded the government of the importance of their identity as a people and a nation. Unfortunately for the United Kingdom the decision would be made for them, as autonomous communities within the Kingdom would be absorbed into the Empire via the decisions of their local leaders and instead of waging war, they opted to be absorbed.

There’s evidence that the Third Republic Party attempted to negotiate with Reina Cèlia that now was the time to mount a resistance, but there was little support within the government to fight and their words fell on deaf ears. There’s also plenty of documentation of the Shipwrights Union using the opportunity of people losing their statehood to expand their influence, waiting for the right time to strike with insurgents. As a result a small revolt would be held by the Governor of the Illes de Turra but would be quickly stopped, and Charstania would officially become a semi-autonomous entity within the borders of an Empire.
