Founding

When the bombs dropped on Conión in 2162, the Imperial Ambassador to Karieba, Vidone Izzo Costa decided to take matters into their own hands, and declare unilaterally that all of Karieba was now unified with the Empire. He would also declare himself both the Governor and Primer of Karieba, however he had no ability to actually enforce his rule outside of the Sanctuary City Stalowy Duch. Instead he unified Karieba against him. The nobility of Karieba would mobilize their forces to encircle Stalowy Duch, from the land, sea and even air, and demand that he exited out of the city in peace. Eventually after nearly a year of sieging the city, the self proclaimed Primer would give up in exchange to be escorted out safely as the Caretaker AI went rogue and started killing people within the city by 2163.

Although that would mark a time of Karieban unification, an actual constitution regarding the formation of a more unified state wouldn’t be agreed upon until 2185 called the Umowa (oom-o-va) of 2185. Which was later edited a number of times, the most recent one being the Umowa of 2336, when the Regency attacked Jarvköti by surprise, nearly destroying Keskellen. This Constitution would place an Emperor as head of state by vote of a Diet from representatives of aristocratic houses all over Karieba, however they were still answerable to the Diet and could be voted out. The result was and still is rather chaotic when it comes to the management of the country, with crises caused at times due to the lack of faith in a particular Emperor, stonewalling from the Emperor to the Diet and vice versa etc. The workings of the IKF Government also has had and continues to have a reputation of relying on Clientelism for legitimacy, resulting in many in the IKF government being ill suited for their work, or for doing government work that doesn’t exist.
