The Fourth Alianza War

Military action

1965-1971 ISC

The Civil War in Illagua would escalate into a realm wide conflict when the Second Navaleian Republic would directly intervene, and start pushing back the loyalist faction to Apaz. The Arenian Empire would use the escalation as a chance to publicly condemn the Navaleian Republic for making the conflict even more devastating and immediately declare war against them on the 3rd of Sevira. The belligerents being the Arenian Empire, the United Kingdom of Charstania, the Kingdom of Prezia, the Ayain-Valian Commonwealth, against the Third Alianza composed of the Second Navaleian Republic, the Illagaun Rebel factions, and eventually draw in the Parishad of Krimudra. A Sharādī faction joining the Alianza however only gave the Arenian Empire even more ammunition, spreading propaganda that the Navaleian Republic made a deal with the Pabitrētā to spread the worship of Rakshaba but with no evidence.

Although many of the details of this war are lost in Imperial revisionism, it’s known that the fighting that occurred with much of the new technology made for warfare was devastating, especially in Illagua where the scars of battle can still be seen. The mental damage experienced by the people involved would be long lasting, with new treatments for mental health emerging to counter the issue. The end of the war would see the rebellion in Illagua subdued, the reorganization of the Second Navaleian Republic to the Autonomous Republic of the Aredián as a puppet of the Arenian Empire. Organizations built for dissent towards their new masters would emerge in the shadows known as the Shipwrights Union, a anracho and liberal syndicalist organization that would handicap Imperial production as much as possible and the Third Republic Party, an extension of the previous government, waiting for their chance to re-emerge as leaders. The Council of Krimudra’s failure would signal to the Pabitrētā that there are no allies left in Terra Fracta, and would begin to close themselves off from the rest of the realm. However the lasting scar of war would force the new Imperial authority to recognize the enormous sacrifice that was endured, and marked the 30th of Guerana as Recomia, Remembrance day.
