Castle Ruins
The ruins of Farondale Keep have become an eerie and haunted place, avoided by most except for treasure seekers and scholars who wish to study its mysterious past. Over time, the permanent elemental bond that the keep once had with the forces of nature has turned its remains into a site of strange, permanent phenomena.
The castle’s bond with the elements persists even in ruin. The walls are overgrown with ivy that never dies, the air around the castle always feels warm despite the season, and the nearby stream never freezes, as though some elemental magic continues to protect it. Locals say that the spirits of the Elemental Guardians still linger, protecting the land but also punishing those who would disrespect the ruin.
Cave
The Gemstone Hollow was once a hidden refuge for a reclusive mage known as Zalreth the Opulent. Famous for his extravagant tastes and mastery of illusion magic, Zalreth transformed the natural beauty of the cave into a lavish hideaway where he could escape from the world. The walls of the cave were adorned with glittering gemstones, reflecting the mage’s aggressive desire for wealth and status, even in solitude.
The heart of the cave opens into a vast underground hall, unlike the tight corridors leading to it. Adventurers who reach this part of the cave feel a sense of awe, as the walls shimmer with faint illusions of long-lost beauty. The space seems to invite exploration, but it also instills a sense of unease, as if something is watching from the shadows, waiting for curious minds to venture too far.
Foggy Moor
Once known as Grimmoore Fields, the moor was a place of peace and prosperity, home to the Grimmoore family, a noble lineage that ruled over the surrounding lands. The family maintained an ancient pact to protect the region, living in harmony with both nature and the spirits of the land. The fields were known for their beauty, with gentle mists rising each morning and disappearing by noon. However, a single careless act unleashed a curse that forever changed the moor.
The Grimmoore Moor is now an open, ruined landscape, perpetually shrouded in thick fog. The ground is soft and uneven, with broken remnants of old structures barely visible through the mist. Twisted trees and gnarled roots rise from the earth like skeletal fingers, giving the moor an eerie and desolate appearance. Despite this, the moor has a strange allure, its eerie beauty drawing in those who are curious or foolhardy enough to explore its depths.
Forest
To the north, lies the Ashenwood Forest. Unlike the tranquil Woodlands of Aravon, Ashenwood is a wild, untamed forest, filled with towering trees and ancient ruins. It is a dangerous place, rumored to be home to dark fae and other malicious spirits..
Mountain
The Ironpeak Mountains form the northern border of Astravon and stretch far into the wilderness beyond. These rugged peaks are home to old dwarven fortresses, the abandoned mine, and hidden valleys where ancient creatures still roam.
Plains
The Rolling Plains of Astravon stretch between Theradon and the edges of the Woodlands of Aravon. These fertile lands are crucial to the kingdom's agriculture, but the growing darkness has caused an increase in banditry and marauding creatures.
River
The Aurelion River flows through much of the kingdom, connecting the city of Theradon and other settlements to the Sea of Stars. Along its banks, smaller villages thrive, but in recent times, dark creatures have been spotted near its shores.
Ruins
Scattered across Eldoria, ruins from fallen empires can be found in various locations. One such ruin lies in the foggy Grimmoore Moor, where a crumbling tower juts out of the fog, still standing against time's passage. Another ruin lies within the Ashenwood Forest, where strange stone monoliths dot the landscape.
