Alistair grew up alongside Scott Stewart, since they lived next door to each other. His mother inherited a sum of money from her parents that allowed her to stay at home and teach Ross to read, and the basics of a mathematical and scientific education. Shortly after he turned ten, he was sent to be a chimney sweep alongside Scott. After they both grew too large, Scott and Alistair started work in a factory, cleaning under the machines. When he was 20 years old, he re-awakened as a werewolf. This terrified his mother, who kicked him out of the house. After living with Scott and his family for a year, Scott was transformed into a vampire by Senprus, who formed The Darkwalkers with the two of them and took them travelling around Europe. After that, the trio settled in Destham and moved into Senprus' House. Since he isn't a vampire, Alistair feels a lot more guilt and sympathy towards the human victims that his friends bring home, as well as feeling more vulnerable because of his dependency upon his wolf-skin. This tends to make him behave the most "human-like" out of his friends.

Alistair loves to enter fitness and strength competitions. So far, the only competitions he hasn't won under a fake name are world championships, and that's because Senprus won't let him enter them.

Alistair got kicked out of the house after his re-awakening. He pleaded and begged his mother to accept him, or try to help him through the difficult time, but she refused. He had to live of the streets for a short time before moving in with Scott and his family.

The reason Alistair has never met another werewolf is because a werewolf can smell a vampire a mile away, and he's always traveled in the company of Scott and Senprus. Essentially - they all avoid him because they can't smell him above the stench of a vampire.
