The Cult of Ares

Under the order of a mysterious figure that calls themself Chiron - just like the ferry man - the cult that worships the god of war thrives in war and strives to please its god by inciting and prolonging it. The cult operates in the dark and under the cover of diplomacy. Only whispers of this organisation have so far made it out. But lately soldiers bearing symbols of Ares have appeared and come out to opperate more in the light of day. Most recently their involvement with The Pythia of Delphi has become known.

Structure

Lead by the The Helmet  the Cult has different branches:
The Feather  with it´s most knowledgeable cultist that have made their way through the different regimes of the Poleis.
The Shield which are those who are assigned to protect the most important Feathers.
The Sword  that is the standing army and often are hired as mercenaries in war.
The Arrow  - highly trained assassins that kill targets on order.
The Body, which consist of all lower level unskilled cultists

History

Sometime during the Golden Age of Men the cult was founded by a figure, that used the same name as the current leader - some even say it is the same person and that he is a son of Ares, others believe that it is just something like a title given from one leader to the next. No matter who leads this cult, it has always acted in the shadow a drawn the strings from the dark so most history is only known within the cult and only by high-ranking members and the current leader.

War is our life blood.
