Puresteel

There is little more wondrous or addicting than the feel of a Puresteel weapon in your hands. Few exist, and fewer still are lucky enough to wield them. But if you ever come across one, it will be a memory you cherish for a lifetime.

A lightweight, silvery metal with tinges of blue that glows in the moonlight.

    Physical & Chemical Properties

It is lighter than regular steel, twice as strong, and can be manipulated in extremely precise ways. It is also magical and capable of storing up moonlight to be released later as energy.

    Geology & Geography

    Found exclusively in Shalden

    Origin & Source

    Found in Moonstone deposits

    History & Usage

    Everyday use

It can be enchanted to hold onto the moon's power for certain periods of time, or to release it at a specific rate, making it the perfect material for building magical technology. It is commonly used by powerful figures in Shalden to power magical technologies and decorate major buildings. A few legendary Puresteel weapons are known to exist as well.

    Cultural Significance and Usage

Puresteel is found in Moonstone deposits, which are commonly thought to have come from the moon, making it extremely holy and sacred to followers of Vi-Serin.    It is used almost exclusively in Shalden, though its existence is known in the western half of Flindreck, and Puresteel artifacts are especially prized and coveted.

    Industrial Use

Though a thin strand of puresteel can support more than a full grown man’s weight, its true power comes from something far more magical. Puresteel can channel the light of the moon, storing up its power and releasing it as quickly as its wielder prefers.

    Refinement

Puresteel needs to be melted down and separated from Moonstone in order to be used properly, though unrefined ore will still store power in smaller doses.
