Valmaira

Valmaira is...
an unforgiving land of ruin and cold. The life here is hardy, adapted to the harshness of the frozen wastes that make up Valmaira. Mysteriously, this land seems mostly empty of the Creation Crystals - and thus of mages too - however, another source of power lies here in the form of Psionics. Anyone with psionics powers have a trace back to Valmaira, whether it be that they were orginally from this continent or had ancestors that had lived there at some point... Valmaira seemingly being this magic's origin.
Behind the ice, there are a large number of Giant's ruins in this region of the world. Epic cities of a once dominant species of Myst - now frozen forever in time. There are those that would seek out these ruins to uncover their secrets and histories, but many have dissauded by the recent hostile expansion and takeover of The Second Creed, a fanatical religion that follows the teachings of The Gold Maiden and worship her psionic prowess.

| Psionics seem to have an origin in Valmaira, but why does this power manifest here? There are differing beliefs to the reasons and an even further divide on how to utilize these strange powers. This has led to a war between those of The Second Creed, and those that worship the Old Gods. |
