Pilgrimage of the Lifestone

Execution

The Temples

Before dwarves seeking to journey to the Lifestone Pagoda must first visit one of the temples in either silverforge or Deepforge. There the priest will give them a blessing and bestow upon them the keys needed to make the trek. The pilgrimage fast will begin when the dwarf leaves the temple.

The Door of Life

At the mouth of the Silverspire mountains, past the teeth of the frozen waterfall is the start of the pilgrimage. A dwarven doorway sits hidden amongst the stone. There are 8 sconces in the door, each one needs a small token placed inside that can be retrieved when the door opens. The path beyond the door leads deep into the mountain in a ever so slight incline. The tunnel is huge, towering a good 20 feet above with enough room to drive two wagons through side by side and is lit with moonsilver sconces lining the walls lighting up the area.

The Shrines

Over the course of the journey there are a number of shrines the traveler must stop at. One for each of the Eight gods. The dwarf will light a candle at each shrine with their prayer before moving on to the next shrine.

The Door of Death

At the end of the tunnel is another door. This one just as elabrate as the first with a different theme. Again there are eight niche's carved into the door awaiting the keys. This door opens onto a clifftop overlooking the ocean. Turning to the left you will find the temple, it is carved into the stone of the mountain it is resting against. On either side of it are smaller buildings, also built into the cliffface. Before the temple is the Blood Gardens. So named for the pools of blood red magic that have gathered on the shelf the temple is located on.

Breaking the Fast

The Daelord greets all new guests to the temple and guides them to a feasting room where they are encouraged to fill their bellies and rest. They will spend the night in one of the rooms build off of the feast hall then go about whatever they came to the temple for. Then they will leave, retracing their steps back through the tunnel, relighting any candles that have gone out. They return the keys to the temple and the pilgrimage is complete.
