Xiosia

Xiosia is a very small planet made almost entirely of fungi. This once upon a time was a flourishing agricultural planet, no lays in waste as a powerful disease has wiped out most of its inhabitants and the planet has since been labeled as uninhabitable. While this comes to a surprise, the disease that ransacked the planet was a fungal disease called XIA-635. A powerful mind melting fungus that when inhaled, eventually leads to certain death within 3 years. That being said, many republic researchers are making progress in finding not only a cure, but also a way to eradicate the disease. So far any natural course of removing the fungus has proved ineffective. An antidote remains impossible to create, and a cure is far from completed. Until then, only Republic officials may enter the planet legally.
