• Lindorm (wyrm, linnr, wheelworm, or ringworm) –Wingless Dragons. Some have a human form called a Manorm or Lindormen. They live in deep caves and mountaintops'
  • Mushussu- Lion maned dragons that prowl the Desert of Nuru.
  • Pixiu – Lion bodies, dragon headed, winged creatures, with two horned anters – veracious appetite for gold and silver.
  • Qilin – single horned, dragon body, hooved creature. Is seen at the coming or passing of a sage ruler. “head of a dragon, the antlers of a deer, the skin and scales of a fish, the hooves of an ox and tail of a lion.”
  • Bixi – Dragon headed tortoises that guard gravesites.
  • Yuxa – Queen of serpents. According to popular beliefs, every 100-year-old snake is transformed into Yuxa. In fairy tales, Yuxa is described as a beautiful damsel who would marry men in order to beget offspring.
  • Zilant – Serpent-like dragon. Zilant should be distinguished from Aq Yılan (White Snake), which is the king of snakes.
  • Erbüke – A creature like Shahmaran. An Erbüke is often depicted as a wise and benign man with the features of a man above the waist and those of a serpent below the waist. He is held to be king of the snakes. Shahmaran female version, half woman half serpent
